When To Call

Signs You Need Kitchen Demolition Now

If you're planning a kitchen remodel, demo comes first. We see this a lot near downtown New Lenox. These homes have plaster walls and old wiring. Homes in Spencer's Crossing and Bradshaw Farms have old cabinets too. Those cabinets are now 20 to 25 years old. Tearing things out the wrong way can hurt pipes or wires. It can even damage the floor below. Demo work needs a plan, not just a hammer. Hidden wires and walls matter a lot.[1] We handle the mess and dust. We also handle permit questions for you. You won't have to guess what's safe to pull out.

Bill was fantastic to work with. I had an idea in mind what I wanted for my small laundry room, but unsure how to make it all work. His idea to add a deep, panty-like cabinet to fit vacuums, mops, and ironing board worked out perfectly. The pull-out drawers for soaps, the steamer, the iron, and many other essentials have been so convenient for storage. I will use him for my next project.
Thank you so much for your excellent work. I will definitely use your services for my next project.

We are extremely pleased to have discovered RBI. Initially, we were set on re-facing, but something felt off. Once we met Bill, everything changed. They made a minor reconfiguration that enhanced the functionality of my kitchen. They provided us with high-quality all-wood cabinetry and finishes that we thought were beyond our budget. Bill also sourced a stunning quartz countertop for us. Remarkably, the total cost was almost the same as the re-facing option. Additionally, they painted our kitchen, upgraded our electrical system, repaired our tile floor, installed new lighting, and assisted us in acquiring a new microwave hood and dishwasher. The products, craftsmanship, and pricing were all excellent. We had a fantastic experience!

Common Questions

Kitchen Demolition Questions

Here are answers to the questions New Lenox homeowners ask us most.

  • How much does kitchen demo cost in New Lenox?

Most kitchen demos cost between $1,500 and $6,000. The price depends on kitchen size, wall removal, and plumbing or wiring work. We give you a firm quote before we start, so you know the cost upfront.

  • How long does kitchen demo take?

Most kitchens in New Lenox take one to two days to demo. Older homes with plaster walls or hidden wires can take a bit longer. We'll give you a time guess during your walkthrough.

  • Should I demo my kitchen myself?

We don't think that's a good idea. DIY demo often damages pipes, wires, or floors. Those are costly to fix. A pro crew knows what to protect and what's safe to remove.

  • Do I need a permit for kitchen demo?

It depends on the work. New Lenox needs a permit for jobs with electrical, plumbing, or wall removal. Simple jobs, like swapping cabinets without moving pipes, usually don't need one.

  • How soon can you start my demo?

We book up fast from January through April. Fall and winter months often have more open slots. Call now and we'll give you our next open date.

  • What signs mean I need demo work?

Old cabinets, cracked counters, or a layout that doesn't work are common signs. If your kitchen was built in the 1990s or earlier, it may need new wiring or pipes too. We check all of this during our walkthrough.

  • What happens to the junk after demo?

We haul away everything we remove. This includes cabinets, flooring, and old counters. You won't need to get your own dumpster. Your kitchen is left clean and ready for the next step.
